Hard Probes 2016, Wuhan, September 23-27, 2016
The 8th International Conference on Hard and Electromagnetic Probes of High-energy Nuclear Collisions (Hard Probes 2016) will be held at the East Lake International Conference Center, Wuhan, China on September 23 -27, 2016. The conference will be hosted by Central China Normal University (CCNU). A one-day of pedagogical lectures for students and young scientists will be held on the campus of CCNU on September 22. |
Symposium on jet and electromagnetic tomography of dense matter
A Symposium on Jet and Electromagnetic Tomography of Dense Matter will be held in McGill University just before the start of the Hard Probes 2015 Conference. The symposium will review the accomplishments of the JET Collaboration at the end of the five funding period, assess the progress made so far, and outline future challenges for the field. |
A Closer Look at the Perfect Fluid
By combining data from two high-energy accelerators, nuclear scientists have refined the measurement of a remarkable property of exotic matter known as quark-gluon plasma. The findings reveal new aspects of the ultra-hot, “perfect fluid” that give clues to the state of the young universe just microseconds after the big bang. - See more here:http://newscenter.lbl.gov/2014/10/02/a-closer-look-at-the-perfect-fluid/#sthash.PUQQrnC7.dpuf |

Workshop on NLO energy loss
JET collaboration meeting on NLO & MC
A 1 and 1/2 day JET collaboration meeting will be held on August 22-23, 2013 at Wayne State University. The goal of the meeting is to assess the progress made in NLO calculations of Energy-Loss and in Monte-Carlo simulations of jet shower modification in a dense medium. The meeting will include several talks from both JET and not JET members. |
2nd Workshop on Jet Modification in the RHIC and LHC era
The goal of this 2 and 1/2 day meeting is to review the most important new experimental measurements and theoretical breakthroughs in the field of jet modification that have occurred in the past year and to throughly explore the limits of perturbative QCD based approaches to the description of hard processes in heavy-ion collisions. The program, which can be found at: https://indico.cern.ch/conferenceTimeTable.py?confId=256031#20130820, includes a series of long, open format talks with lots of time for discussion. All talks will be held in room 1117 of Science Hall at the intersection of Cass and Warren on the campus of Wayne State University. |
