JET Postdoctoral Fellow at LBNL

Post date: Nov 30, 2011 11:37:29 PM

We are pleased to announce the availability of a postdoctoral position in the nuclear theory group at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, starting on October 1, 2012. The position is partially supported through the JET Collaboration. The successful candidate is expected to work within the framework of the JET topical collaboration funded by DOE for the study of dense matter through hard and electromagnetic probes in high-energy heavy-ion collisions. For details about the mission and scope of the JET Collaboration go to JET web site: http://jet.lbl.gov. For information about the Nuclear Theory Group at LBNL please go to: http://www-nsdth.lbl.gov

The appointment will be for an initial term of one-year with renewal for a second year contingent on the performance and availability of funding. Interested applicants are requested to send their applications (CV, list of publications and research statement and plan) and arrange at least three letters of recommendation to: Dr. Volker Koch at vkock@lbl.gov

In addition, we also would like to bring your attend to the Huada International Postdoctoral Fellow in the Institute of Particle Physics (IOPP) at Central China Normal University (CCNU). The successful candidates will work half-time each year at IOPP and LBNL. There are also several Director's Postdoctoral Fellowship positions at IOPP staring on September 1, 2012. The current theoretical research interests at IOPP include high-energy nuclear theory, phenomenology and theoretical particle physics, with special emphasis on physics at high temperature and density, partonic structure of hadrons and nuclei in high-energy collisions, signals of quark-gluon plasma in heavy-ion collisions, heavy flavor physics, dark matter and physics beyond standard model.

Interested candidates can indicate in their applications to the LBNL postdoctoral position their interest in the position at IOPP/CCNU or send their applications directly to: Dr. Xin-Nian Wang at xnwang@lbl.gov

Review of applications will start at the end of December and will continue until the positions are filled.
