Huada International Postdoctoral Positions at the Institute of Particle Physics

Central China Normal University

We are pleased to announce the availability of Huada International Postdoctoral Fellowship and Director’s Postdoctoral Fellowship positions at the Institute of Particle Physics (IOPP) of the Central China Normal University (CCNU), starting on September 1, 2012. The Huada International Postdoctoral Fellowships are joint appointments with IOPP and the Nuclear Science Division at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and the successful candidates will work half-time each year at IOPP and LBNL. All the appointments will be for one-year initially, with the renewal of the second year contingent on the performance and availability of funding. We provide competitive salary and travel support for these postdoctoral fellowship positions.

The current research interests at IOPP cover both experimental and theoretical high-energy nuclear physics. The theory efforts include high-energy nuclear theory, phenomenology and theoretical particle physics, with special emphasis on physics at high temperature and density, partonic structure of hadrons and nuclei in high-energy collisions, signals of quark-gluon plasma in heavy-ion collisions, heavy flavor physics, dark matter and physics beyond standard model. Experimentally, we focus on the physics of collectivity with partonic degrees of freedom, fluctuation and correlations and heavy flavor production in STAR experiment at RHIC, and neutral hadron/heavy flavor production and high pT physics in ALICE experiment at LHC.

For a complete list of faculty members and other information about IOPP go to: http://ioppweb.ccnu.edu.cn. Interested applicants are requested to submit their applications (including CV, a list of publications and research statement and plan) and arrange to have at least three recommendation letters sent to:

(Theory applications) Prof. Xin-Nian Wang, at: xnwang-at-iopp.ccnu.edu.cn

(Experiment applications) Prof. Nu Xu, at nxu-at-iopp.ccnu.edu.cn

Review of applications will start after Dec. 19, 2011 and will continue until the positions are filled.
